By ferry: Ferries run daily from the mainland port of Kuala Kedah and the island of Penang to Langkawi.
By car: You can drive to Kuala Kedah or Penang and take a ferry to Langkawi.
By bus: Buses run from major cities in Malaysia, such as Kuala Lumpur and Penang, to Kuala Kedah and Penang, where you can then take a ferry to Langkawi.

In 3 days, you can see and do plenty in Langkawi. Here is a great 3-day itinerary for a quick visit:
Day 1:
Arrive and check in to hotel. Check out a nearly beach, depending where you stay you may be closest to any of these beaches:
Cenang Beach: This is the most popular beach in Langkawi, known for its white sandy beaches and clear waters. There are many restaurants, bars and shops along the beach.
Datai Bay: This secluded bay is located in the northwest of Langkawi and offers a beautiful natural setting and clear waters for swimming and snorkeling.

Mangrove and Langkawi Geopark Tour:
Langkawi Geopark is a UNESCO designated Geopark located on the island of Langkawi, Malaysia. The park covers an area of about 100 square kilometers and is made up of a series of limestone hills and cliffs, caves, as well as mangrove forests, wetlands, and beaches. The park also features a wide variety of flora and fauna, including many species of birds, monkeys, bats, and reptiles. You’ll visit bat caves, see Eagles feeding on fish, and monkeys on beaches and rocks.
Visitors most often explore the park by taking a boat tour (4-6 hours), which offers views of the cliffs and rock formations along the coast, or by taking a jungle trek, which offers the opportunity to explore the mangrove forests, wetlands, and other habitats within the park.
Pulau Payar Marine Park:
This marine park is located about 30 minutes by boat from Langkawi, it’s a great place for snorkeling and diving, with beautiful coral reefs and a wide variety of marine life.
Day 3:
Start your day early and avoid the queues and lines at the famous Cable Car and Sky Bridge. Highly recommend getting there and getting your ticket 15-20 minutes before it opens. This aerial gondola offers panoramic views of the island, and is a great way to see the beautiful landscapes of Langkawi. The Sky Bridge is a 125-meter-long curved pedestrian bridge that offers stunning views of the island and is a popular tourist destination. Keep in mind it’s chilly up there, consider bringing a light jacket.

If you have an extra couple of days we highly recommend taking the ferry to Koh Lipe, as Langkawi is the closest ferry ride to this secluded paradise.
