Days 1-3 Rome

Arrive in Rome, make your way to your hotel, there are many great hotel choices in Rome depending on budget and location.

Where to stay in Rome with Kids: We recommend staying in the Trastavere, Monti, Villa Borghese, or Vatican City areas with kids.

Things to see in Rome: Trevi Fountain, Pantheon and Piazza Navona, Colosseum, Vatican City, Explora Children’s Museum, Villa Borghese Park, Roman Forum. *Note that for most religious sights in Italy you must have legs and shoulders covered (no shorts, short skirts, or tank tops).

Fun activities to try: Pasta making classes, Art and Jewelry making classes, Food Tours are all fun ways to immerse yourself in the culture.

Dining with Kids in Rome: The most kid-friendly options will be Pizzerias, Trattorias (casual restaurants that offer traditional Roman cuisine), Pasta Restaurants (Hostaria Romana, Da Felice, and La Carbonara), and Osterias (typically offer a relaxed and cozy atmosphere). It’s also worth noting that Italians often dine late, so check to make sure they are open if you are dining earlier.

Days 3-6 Positano

Take a train from Rome to Naples and then a ferry to Positano or another train to Sorrento and then ferry to Positano. Alternatively you can get a private car directly from Rome to Positano.

Positano is a picturesque coastal village located on the Amalfi Coast in southern Italy. Known for its colorful buildings perched on steep cliffs, stunning sea views, and beautiful pebble beaches, Positano is a popular destination for tourists seeking a romantic and scenic getaway. The village offers a unique blend of Italian charm, luxurious hotels, exquisite dining options, and boutique shops, making it a must-visit destination for travelers exploring the Amalfi Coast.

Things to see and do in Positano with kids: Take a day cruise to see the magnificent coast, take a cooking class, visit Pompeii, enjoy the beaches such as Spiaggia Grande and Fornillo Beach, hike the Path of Gods (located above the town, it is one of the most beautiful walks in Italy).

Dining with kids in Positano: Chez Black, Da Vincenzo, Ristorante Max, Buca di Bacco, and La Pergola are some great options.

Days 6-9 Ravello

Take a ferry to Amalfi and then a bus to Ravello, or hire a private driver to take you to save time.

Ravello is a breathtaking and charming hilltop town. Ravello is a small town that can be easily explored on foot, and its stunning views, historic sites, and cultural offerings make it a must-visit destination on the Amalfi Coast of Italy.

Places to stay in Ravello: Hotel Giordano, Hotel Rufolo, Villa Maria, and Belmond Hotel are a few great options. It can be challenging to find a family-size room in Ravello but they definitely exist.

Things to do and see in Ravello: take a walking guided tour, visit Amalfi, take a pizza making class, and visit a lemon and olive oil farm, visit the Villa Rufolo, Villa Cimbrone and Ravello Cathedral.

Day 10 Transfer back to Rome and home
